Adalta CC star Emma Lewis continued her fine form by smashing her personal best with a time of 22.10 at Ashford Wheelers’ 10-mile timetrial.

Ever-improving Lewis followed this up by taking a solo victory at Redbridge on Saturday. Breaking away from the group with another rider, Lewis put the power down in the closing laps to cross the line with a good gap back to her rival.

Freya Rawlins rode well on the front of the bunch to keep any attacks at bay and took fourth in the sprint finish.

Rawlins was back at Redbridge the following day for the Essex Giro Support Race and mirrored her team-mate’s performance from the previous day.

Rawlins found herself chasing the lead rider then had a slip on one of the bends in the wet conditions. Recovering quickly, Rawlins pushed on and held her position to take second place.

Jo Smith travelled to Ipswich for a grass track event on Sunday.

Smith competed in both the men’s and women’s events, taking wins across the board in the women’s races.

In the men’s event Smith won her repechage to qualify for the 800m semis then finished second in the unknown distance race and eighth in the devil for an amazing tally on the day from the club’s national champion.

Thanet RC hosted their first midweek crit race, altering the simple circuit to make for a technical and fast race.

Jason Oram finished fifth followed by Ross Bryan in sixth and Stuart Baldwin ninth.

Lewis and Smith filled the top two places in the women’s race.
