Latham could return in Championship

The Kiwi batsman has been omitted from the white-ball team this week after making just 16 runs in his previous two 50-over appearances combined and 12 in his sole innings in two T20 appearances. In their first Championship game for three weeks Kent will be seeking to follow-up their 10-wicket romp against the Welsh last month – a match which saw Latham share two opening century stands with Daniel BellDrummond. His 53 and 79 not out made him the first Kent player to score fifties in each innings of their first appearance, though he had 35 runs in the three Championship innings before their white-ball block.
