SMUGGLERS B PULL OFF A CUP UPSET

Ian Rauch hit 24 runs in the first leg and Darryl Joyce also weighed-in with a 29-run haul. John Kay was Dove’s best player with 22 runs and two traps to his name.

In Division 4, Herne Bay FC travelled to Painter Forstall side Alma B and came home with a 2-0 victory.

In Ladies’ League Division 1, Ratling Club beat Haywain 2-0 with Tracy Butcher scoring 20 runs in the first leg for the winners.

Golden Lion beat Golden Oldies 2-1 despite Mary Bligh making a good start for Oldies by scoring 25 runs in the first leg.

Jenny Kersley scored 21 for the ladies in the same leg and Tiffany Eames took three traps.

Three traps each from Cheryl Collier, Shirley Gardiner and Amy Harris wasn’t enough for Kings Head A who went 2-0 down to Market Inn. Market Captain Amanda Parsons scored 23 runs in the second leg to secure the game for her team.

Castle B beat Castle A 2-1 with Sarah Morhen scoring 22 runs in the first leg, Kelly Calvert scoring 36 in the third and Diane Calvert taking three traps. Lauren Mewitt took four traps for the losers and Sally Parry managed three.

In Division 2 Kings Head B had a 2-0 success against Artichoke, while Catholic Club won against Ye Olde Beverlie by the same score. Red Lion B beat Red Lion A 2-1.

Teams were also competing in the second round of the Fremlins Cup.

Despite only having four players, Kings Head A beat Golden Lion Ladies 2-1 with Cheryl Collier taking four traps for the winners and team-mate Carol Waghon taking three.

Ratling Club beat Catholic Club 2-1 despite last batter Ruth Dengate scoring 21 not out to take the second leg and Pam Watson taking four traps.

Three traps each for Sheila Williams and Lynn Barleycorn was not enough for Kings Head B as they went 2-1 down to Haywain. Market Inn beat Red Lion A 2-0 with Amanda Parsons scoring 23 runs in the first leg.

Keeley Wanstall took three traps for the losers.
