Youth worker is a cut above

-

A youth worker at the Thanington Resource Centre has shaved her head for a cause close to the hearts of staff and users.

Mum- of- four Lynsey Marshall went under the clippers to raise money for the Pattie Cook Memorial Fund - set up in memory of the centre caretaker and events organiser who died in April, aged just 52.

The fund benefits children, with 42-year-old Lynsey’s effort raising more than £650.

Her head shave, carried out by senior youth worker Gareth Boiling, was staged in front of a large crowd of cheering centre users.

Manager Paula Spencer said: “Lynsey is amazing - she has made us all very proud.”

The latest effort means more than £4,200 has now been raised by family, friends and local people for Pat’s charity fund.
