Some dolls are bigger than others

Mum searches for owner of giant three-foot Barbie found at bus stop ‘She is absolutely massive and someone out there must be missing her’

A puzzled mum has launched an appeal to find the owner of a 3ft Barbie, which she found abandoned at a bus stop.

Claire Littlefield discovered the unusually large doll in Nackington Road on Saturday, and has so far been unable to track down its owner.

But rather than leaving it on the side of the road, Claire has decided to make newly-named Chardonnay feel part of the family – taking her on trips around the city and posting pictures online.

Claire launched the appeal to find the doll’s owner on Facebook’s Canterbury Residents’ Group and the search has had many people chuckling, with some saying Claire should start a new page – Chardonnay’s Travels.

Chardonnay has now visited the Cathedral and the Goods Shed, and was pictured on the Dave Lee bench outside the Marlowe Theatre.

Claire told the Gazette: “It was a very odd thing to see on the side of the road, but I decided to bring her home because she is absolutely massive and someone out there must be missing her.

“It makes me sad to think of a little girl out there without her Barbie, so hopefully we can reunite them.

“So far, nobody has come forward but there have been a lot of shares on Facebook.

“We have named her Chardonnay, because I think she suits that name, and she’s been enjoying herself at home with us.

“My daughter thinks I’m crazy but hopefully we can find her owner.”

Chardonnay is so big that she is wearing children’s clothing.
