A survivor who beat the odds

-

If anyone is qualified to speak on triumphing in the face of adversity, it has to be Liz Norton.

Diagnosed at just six weeks old with cystic fibrosis and not expected live beyond her teens, her prognosis looked grim.

Not only did she have to endure debilitating symptoms of the disease, but also had to watch her beloved brother die aged just 21 from their shared condition.

And a year later, her devastated father suffered a breakdown, leading to his early retirement and the onset of dementia and his death in 2014.

But Liz, 34, from Canterbury battled against the odds and became an inspirational moti- vational speaker - and now the author of her first book, completing her bucket list of things to do before reaching the age of 30.

And now she has written a book called Step Back, Move Forward, to help others overcome their fears and achieve their potential and ambitions.

In it she writes: “My reason for writing this book was not to tell my own story, but rather to help those who read it to understand how I have kept fighting all these years and how, if they choose to, they can do likewise.

“I’m not special – and that’s the point. I’m an ordinary person who’s had some extraordinary experiences and who has learned to deal with them.”

Step Back, Move Forward, is available in paperback for £12.97 on Amazon, or Kindle priced at £9.99. For more information about Liz, visit www.liznortonpresents.com.
