Cornfoot chasing finals glory

Canterbury pair Alan Cornfoot and Steve Wells have won their way through to the National Finals.
Cornfoot will represent the club in the senior singles with Wells partnering his clubmate in the senior pairs.
Cornfoot overcame Bellingham’s Paul Buck 21-16 in the county final, having beaten David Henning, of Sevenoaks, 21-13 in the last four.
He and Wells qualified in the pairs after pipping Ronald Sydney of Horton Kirby and his partner 20-19.
The finals start at Royal Leamington Spa this weekend.
Canterbury’s A side lost to Herne Bay in the final stages of the Bert Cox Cup. The club’s men lost 110-99 to Aylesham and Snowdown despite both teams winning threee rinks. They picked up four league points.
