Stunning flowers at summer show

-

The annual Rhodes Minis Summer Show took place last Saturday. Although the vegetables were sparse, there was an abundance of flowers entered and the floral arrangements were stunning. There were only 17 entrants this time which was a bit disappointing but they exhibited 150 entries. The Bennett shield for the best exhibit in the show was awarded to Yvonne Neville for her beautiful floral arrangement for the Queen’s 90th birthday. Dorothy Athow was awarded the Wiltshire cup for most points in the flower section, the Griffiths cup for her cookery, the Woodruff trophy for floral art, the D.T. Brown cup for three blooms and she shared the Harrowing cup with Daphne Andrews for the exhibitor with most points in the show. Daphne Andrews also won the Rhodes Minnis Sports Club trophy for photographs and the Flack cup for her perfumed rose.
