Appeal after teen punched in face

-

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was pushed against a fence and punched in the face.

The victim got off a bus in Military Road at about 3pm on Saturday when the attack happened.

As he crossed the road in the direction of the former ambulance station, he was approached by two men.

One pushed him against a fence and punched him in the face, causing bruising and cuts to his head.

The 19-year-old victim managed to run away just as two girls wearing black leggings and hooded tops walked by.

Both of the men who approached the victim are described as in their late teens.

The first man who punched the victim is described as white, approximately 5ft 8in, of slim build and wearing a white T-shirt with a large 89 on the front in red.

He also wore light-coloured tracksuit bottoms and grey trainers.

The second man is described as white, also 5ft 8in, of medium build with short dark brown hair.

He was wearing a black T-shirt with a fluorescent image on the front, dark-col- oured tracksuit bottoms and grey trainers.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the assault or recognise the two suspects.

Officers would also like to hear from the two girls who walked by as the victim managed to escape.
