Ranting drunk said he wanted to abuse officer’s children
Man jailed after outburst in the city centre Exclusive
A drunk told a policeman he wanted to sexually abuse the officer’s children after he was arrested for a foul- mouthed rant.
Stuart Meszaros downed cans of lager in an alcohol control zone before turning his anger on a member of the public and threatening to hit him.
And when a police officer asked him to quieten down, the 45-year-old hurled homophobic abuse at him, later saying he wanted to sexually abuse his children.
Meszaros, of Terry Lane, Whitstable, committed the offences in breach of a suspended jail sentence.
His lawyers at Canterbury Crown Court asked the judge to give the reformed heroin addict another chance. But Judge James O’mahony told him: “You ask for another chance... but how can I?
“You don’t give this court much confidence because you have a bad work record and your addiction has moved from heroin to alcohol.”
The court heard how in May Meszaros was in Best Lane, Canterbury, when he made threats to punch a member of the public.
He was heard screaming, swearing, and threatening to punch the man in the head.
A police officer warned him about his language but the judge was told he had “refused to listen or heed the reasonable warnings”. Instead he opened a can of lager – despite being told it was outlawed because it was in an alcohol control area.
It was then Maszaros turned his anger on the PC, threatening to hit him.
Meszaros pleaded guilty to stealing in January, punching a passer-by in February and committing the public order offence in May – all in breach of the November 2015 suspended sentence.
The judge told him: “You said the most awful things to a police officer – yet that is an offence which only carries a fine.”
He was jailed for a total of 10 months for the offences and given an extra 21 days for failing to turn up to court for a hearing in July.
