Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District

Older residents count too!

-

People who are buying homes to rent out in Canterbury are investing in a small business (Gridlock On Streets As Students Arrive For New Academic Year, Kentish Gazette, September 22).

They have no commitment to the community, only to the money they make.

The students who rent from them are not going to put down roots, they will move on.

This is why the majority of owner occupiers are older people.

As one of these older people, I can see that when we all eventually die we will not be replaced.

We need a preservation society like hedgehogs or birds.
