Sarah bags beauty title
A former University of Kent student beat more than 20 hopefuls on her way to being crowned queen at a national beauty pageant.
Champion Sarah Jegede clinched the Miss Africa Great Britain title at the Royal Regency hall in London. The 23-yearold from Whitstable, who was representing Nigeria, impressed judges with her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow in the talent round. She also scored highly in the cultural, fitness and swimsuit rounds.
Miss Jegede, a graduate in social sciences, said: “My passion for helping less fortunate children motivated me to apply for this pageant. I intend to spend the next year speaking for the voiceless and advocating for the underprivileged.”
