After a year to remember, swimmers from all sections of Faversham SC were awarded trophies and certificat­es by head coach Paul Holt and chairman Peter Crouch last Saturday. Winners of the Swimmer of the Year trophies included Molly Fordyce (8 years), Isabella Holt and Ethan Sharman (10 yrs), Eliza Mills and Max Fordyce (11 yrs), Morgen Jan and Harrison Scott (12 yrs), Eva Mcintyre and Nathan Williams (13 yrs), Emily Holt and Kian Skinner (14 yrs), Lauren Scott (15 yrs), Olivia Hawkins (16 yrs) and Rebecca Crouch (17 yrs). Winner of the Bulbeck Trophy for the Most Improved swimmer in the 11-and-under award was Isabella Holt and the Guy Gibb Trophy for 12-and-overs was won by Eva Mcintyre. The John Cabs Trophies, voted for by other swimmers, were won by Nathan Williams and Eva Mcintyre. The synchronis­ed swimming section’s Beginners Shield for the most improved beginner was awarded to Naomi Algar, the Vinten Trophy, for merit and endeavour, was awarded to Megan Milstead and the Vinten Shield was claimed by Poppy Boorman for showing commitment, team spirit and enhancing the name of synchro. The most improved junior water polo players of the year were Ed Smith, named as Mini Polo Player of the Year and Ioan Saul, who won Water Polo Junior Player of the Year. Distance awards and Rookie Lifeguard certificat­es were presented to Emily Ing and Niah Stemp (Gold 1-3), Nathan Williams (Silver 3), Harrison Scott, Cameron Bullard and Amy Coupe (Silver 1-3) with Owen Ramsden and Hew Bennion achieving Silver 1 and 2. Bronze level rookie awards went to Holly Joiner and Ethan Sharman (1-3), Hew Bennion (Bronze 3), Oscar Williams (Bronze 2) while Cora Goodman and Daisy Joiner achieved Bronze level 1 and 2. Distance awards of 5,000m were completed by Emily Ing, Holly Joiner and Nathan Williams, 4,000m by Ethan Sharman and Harrison Scott with Niah Stemp achieving her 3,000m distance award. Isabella Holt continued her run of success by winning the Higgins Trophy for collecting the highest number of points of girls aged 11-and-under with Ethan Sharman snatching the Higgins trophy for the 11-and-under boys. Club colours were awarded to all swimmers that represente­d the club during the past year alongside new club colours awarded to those representi­ng the club for the first time. Long-standing volunteer Jo Wimble-roberts was recipient of the Neame Trophy for services to the club throughout many years and especially in her role as part of the Learn to Swim section.
