The second week of the Ken Cattell Team Cup Knockout in the Herne Bay & District Winter Darts League saw holders Smugglers Inn host the Tally Ho in an all-premier Division clash. Tally Ho started the brighter of the sides, who both won their opening matches, taking a 3-2 lead. The Smugglers responded to move 4-3 ahead only for Tally Ho to level at 5-5 thanks to man-of-the-match Laurence Parker, with two 180s. In the decisive last singles game, skipper Scott Smith led by example to secure a 6-5 away win for Tally Ho, who move top of Cup Group A. Smugglers’ Mick Morgan and Tally Ho’s Andy Smith also hit 180s. In an all Division 1 clash, Angling Club B won 7- 4 at home to the Heron to move level on points with the Smugglers Inn in Group A. Player-of-the-match Craig Reeves hit two maximums for the Angling Club and Jeff Buxton another, while the Heron gained some consolation with Matt Elliott checking out on 154. In Group B there was a repeat of last season’s Team Plate final – the East Station Snooker Club again ran out victorious against the Druids to move into second. The Druids looked in total control with a 4-1 lead but the Snooker Club rallied to win 6-5 with a 180 from man-of-thematch Anthony Warren and Druids’ Derek Male. A 7- 4 home win for Divers Arms over Chislet Colliery saw them take control of Group C. Jason Adby checked out on 113 and his team-mates Mike Cattell and man-ofthe-match Paul Knight both hit 180s. Whitstable Cricket Club have one foot in the next round after winning 11- 0 at home to Division 1 side the Catholic Club, with Jordan Harding hitting a maximum to cap a man-of-the-match performance.

In the second week of Faversham Darts League action, defending champions Market A came up against early leaders Brents B. With the Market A taking a 2-1 lead out of the doubles, they made short work of completing the win by moving 5-1 ahead. Brents B pulled one back but the Market took the last two games to finish 7-2 winners, with Jordan Dadd leading the way with two 180s. The Railway are the new leaders after a solid away win over Three Horseshoes B. The match was level at 2-2 before the Railway steamed ahead to claim a 6-3 win with Phil Richards taking out 105. The first Castle derby of the season saw the A team take on the B side, with the latter racing into a 4-1 lead – Kyle Boakes hitting a 180. The A team narrowed the gap but B ran out 6-3 winners. Brents A won 6-3 against Market B after storming into a 4- 0 lead with Craig Preston hitting a 180. The Three Tuns A bounced back from their narrow defeat to the Market A last week by beating the Bull A 5- 4. Meanwhile, Three Tuns B took on Bull B. The Bull B started strongly but the Tuns battled back to level at 2-2 and then cancelled out a 4-2 deficit to make it 4- 4 before Tuns landlord Steve Reynolds finished off a superb fightback by winning the last singles for a 5- 4 match victory. The Three Horseshoes A put last week’s crushing defeat behind them with a superb 7-2 away victory over the Football Club. The Shoes A led 2-1 after the doubles and went on to take a 6-1 lead on their way to a 7-2 victory. Shoes skipper Jordan Harding hit a 180.
