Mick Morris came out on top in the Heron Angling Society’s last championsh­ip beach match of the year, the Accumulato­r. Prize monies are adjusted according to how many events an individual has fished or missed and deductions passed to the next placed angler and so on, hence the name. Conditions were fair and Morris found the numbers at Cold Harbour, bringing 39 fish to the scales weighing 16lbs 2.6oz to claim first prize. Tony Morris took second place catching 32 fishing outside the clubhouse weighing 14lbs 10oz with Simon Stephenson in third of the field of 11 with 10lbs 10.2oz with 26 fish. Catches consisted of whiting and just three dogfish, the best of which fell to Andy Wood at 1lbs 13.6oz which won him the heaviest fish pool.

Steve Swan won Herne Bay Angling Associatio­ns two-day Beach Festival with a total aggregate weight of 33.86lbs consisting of whiting and dogfish. Fishing on Neptune Arm, he caught 11.97lb of fish on the Saturday and an impressive 49 fish weighing 21.89lbs on the Sunday, beating 41 other competitor­s. Dave Andrews got the top weight on the Saturday with 38 fish weighing 15.27lbs but was unable to repeat his performanc­e on the Sunday. However, it gave him enough points to crown him as club champion for the second consecutiv­e year with 800 points taken from his best nine results.
