Fordyce lands four gold medals

Faversham swimmers enjoyed success at the Maidstone Open with 11-yearold Max Fordyce claiming four gold medals.

Swimmers aged 10-17 competed against clubs including Bromley, Dover Lifeguards, Gravesend, Herne Bay, Larkfield, Thanet and the host club Maidstone.

Fordyce performed superbly to win the 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m breaststro­ke and 50m fly before rounding off his medal collection with silver in the 11-years 50m freestyle.

Bella Holt, 10, gained a Kent qualifying time in the 100m freestyle in a personal best 1.15.34 to claim a gold medal and also snatched glory in the 50m freestyle (35.54 PB) and a silver in the 50m backstroke (42.36 PB), gaining a Kent Considerat­ion time (KCT). He added a bronze in the 100m backstroke (1.31.80 PB and KCT).

Eva Mcintyre claimed a silver medal in the 13-years 50m breaststro­ke and collected bronzes in the 50m fly (34.10 PB), 100m breaststro­ke and 100m individual medley. She then went on to finish fourth in the 100m freestyle and the 50m backstroke (37.95 PB) with a fifth in the 50m freestyle.

Emily Ing gained a silver medal in the 15-years 100m fly with a fifth in the 50m fly (39.68 PB) and a sixth in the 50m breaststro­ke.

A bronze medal swim by Harrison Scott gained him a KCT for the 50m freestyle (32.38 PB) and he had another in the 50m backstroke (38.74 PB), finishing fourth.

Continuing Faversham’s success, Emily Holt claimed silver in the 14-years 50m breaststro­ke, took fourth in the 100m freestyle and fifth in the 50m freestyle. Faversham’s oldest swimmer, Rebecca Crouch, came home with a bronze medal in the 16-and-over 50m freestyle and fourth in the 50m backstroke.

Mia Kirk was fifth in the 14-years 50m fly and sixth in the 50m and 100m freestyle, while Molly Fletcher-hebden was fifth in the 13-years 50m fly and 100m breaststro­ke and sixth in the 50m backstroke.

Lauren Scott was fourth in the 15-years 50m freestyle and fifth in the 50m backstroke, while Eliza Mills swam a PB in the 11-years 50m breaststro­ke (53.07).

Faversham’s penultimat­e event of 2016, at the Black Lion Winter Meet, is this weekend at Medway Park.
