You should be dancing when you see this Bee Gees tribute

-

A musical telling the story of one of the world’s best-loved bands is coming to Canterbury for a special charity performance.

You Win Again brings the life and music of the Bee Gees to the stage in a spectacular recreation of their charttopping success through the 60s, 70s and 80s.

The concert at the Marlowe Theatre on Sunday, April 9, has been organised by the Canterbury Forest of Blean Rotary Club in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and local charities.

It features incredible portrayals of Gibb brothers Barry, Maurice and Robin and their remarkable vocals, as well as the story of the strife which nearly tore the group apart.

The show charts the rise, fall and rise again of the band which came to write some of the best-known pop songs, including Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, More Than A Woman, You Should Be Dancing, How Deep is Your Love?, Jive Talkin’ and Tragedy.

Other songs, including Islands in the Stream, Grease and If I Can’t Have You, which they wrote for other artists, will also be performed with backing singers and dancer.

President of the Canterbury Forest of Blean Rotary Club David Denne said: “This is the third year that we have supported shows at the Marlowe Theatre.

“The first two productions were The Magic of Motown and the Rat Pack and both were hugely successful, raising nearly £15,000 between them.

“Due to the popularity of the Bee Gees we feel confident that their story, You Win Again, will appeal to not only their original fans, but also their younger followers.

“It’s an ideal Christmas present for somebody who is a Bee Gees fan.”

Tickets cost £25 from the box office on 01227 787787 or at www.marlowetheatre.com.
