Canterbury Ladies 2nds battled to secure a point at East League Division 1 South leaders Sevenoaks.

The city club secured a goalless draw to stay second and become the first team to take points off Oaks this season.

The 2As are third in Division 2 South East after edging a fivegoal thriller at Havering in their last game before the festive break.

Harriet Williams stole the show with a fine goal from the top of the D. The 3rds were handed a 4-0 walkover win by Meopham to move away from the foot of the Kent League, Premier Division.

The 3As had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Ashford in Kent Area Division 1.

The city club wasted several good chances in the first half and saw a shot hit the post before breaking the deadlock. However, after the break, the hosts applied the pressure and ensured a share of the points.

The over-35s were in National Cup action for the first time after a bye and a walkover with a 2-1 success against Epsom in the third round.

The opening goal was wellworked with Jacquie Laird finding newcomer Cara Brogan-jones to turn in at the back post.

Canterbury doubled the lead with Mel Lea completing a fine move to secure her first goal for the vets.

Kellie Grey saw a third controversially ruled out while the visitors pulled one back in equally controversial fashion although it was the city club who progressed to the quarter-finals to host Taunton Vale in February.

A blistering first-half display helped Canterburymen’s 2nds to a 5-2 win at Bromley & Beckenham 2nds to close the gap on London Premier Division leaders Hampstead & Westminster.

Tyler Deas scored twice and Harrison Smith and Zak Williams got the others as the Pilgrims won 4-1 at home to BBHC in South League Kent/sussex Regional 2.

The 4ths were 3-1 winners at Cliftonville in Kent Area Division 1 although the 3rds slipped to a 5-2 defeat at the University of Kent in the same division despite Hugo Creaney-birch’s second-half strike.

The Millers suffered a surprise defeat at Blackheath 3rds to lose ground at the top of Division 2.

The hosts were 2-0 up inside 20 minutes only for Paul Sharratt to convert a penalty corner and Jim Laslett to level.

However, a short corner strike and two defensive slips ensured Heath ran out 5-2 winners.

Tom Hill, Phil Bwogi and Jack Mason goals helped the 5ths to a 3-1 win at home to Sevenoaks 5ths in Kent Open Premier B.

Hill and Bwogi put the hosts ahead at the break and although Oaks pressed after the break and halved the deficit, Mason fired home the clincher.

The Griffins beat hosts Sevenoaks Acorns 10-2 to move away from the foot of Premier C.

Jamie Tritton broke the deadlock but the hosts levelled before being awarded a penalty flick, which Dave Kiernan saved.

Canterbury opened up a 3-1 lead but Oaks got one back before the break, only for Gary Laslett, Mark Batchelor, Callum Lea and Tritton to run riot after the turnaround, with Batchelor and Tritton netting hat-tricks.

The Squires won 3-1 at home to Gillingham Anchorians 3rds in Division 1 while the Friars sit third in Division 3 at the midway point, just a point off the top after a 4-1 win at Folkestone 7ths. Dan Jakeman scored twice in the first half and John Ratcliffe’s single made it 3-1 at the break. Jim Senior added the fourth.
