FAVERSHAM DARTS LEAGUE: LEADERS MARKET MAKE SHORT WORK OF LATEST VICTORY TO STAY IN CONTROL

-

Faversham League leaders Market A marched on with a 6-3 home win over Three Tuns B. The Market took a 2-1 lead going into the singles and made short work of sealing victory as they won the opening three singles through Pete Davies, Darren Butcher and Jordan Dadd. The Tun’s Clive Pout pulled one back but Chris Dadd made it 6-2 before Louis Reynolds won the last for the visitors. Market’s Jordan Dadd and Darren Butcher each hit a 180. The Castle B were at home to the Railway and got off to a dream start, winning all three doubles without dropping a leg. The Railway’s Richie Stevens got his team on the board but the Castle sealed victory through Keith Ralph and Steve Clemmence before the Railway restored some pride through Mark Bryant, Phil Richards and Ant Halls – who hit a maximum – to close the gap to 5-4. The Three Horseshoes B travelled to the Football Club and came away with a 6-3 win. The Shoes started well taking a 2-1 lead into the singles and were 4-1 up with wins from Chris Bedo and Rob Forber. The Football Club started a fightback through Jason ‘Shoesy’ Mills and Mick Lee but the Shoe’s Mark Forber and Pete Jones ensured a 6-3 win. Bedo hit a 180 and took out a 110 checkout. The Bull A hosted the Castle A who got off to a perfect start taking all three doubles for a 3-0 lead. The Bull fought back to make it 3-2 with singles wins coming from landlord Martin Apps and Ben Felts but the Castle finished strong taking the remaining four singles to see out a 7-2 win through Lewis Gore, Bob Mason, Steve Wright and Brett Eason. Gore and Fred Hill both hit a 180 while there was a 122 check from Eason. The Brents A travelled to the Three Horseshoes A and were ruthless in taking a 7-0 up after the first four singles through Neville Boakes, Dave Mouldings, Richard Boswell and George Harris. The Shoes’s Alan Coomber prevented the whitewash but the Brent’s Pete Sage took the last singles to see out an 8-1 victory. The Market B visited Brents B this week but fell 3-1 down after Ivan Boorman won the opening singles match. But this only spurned a great fightback from the Market as they won the remaining five singles to seal a 6-3 victory through Nobby Gore, Kiah Lee, Paul Jones, Richard Pennel and Gary Mullins. Lee, Jones and Pennel hit maximums while there were high checks of 113 and 104 hit by Lennie Boorman and Jones respectively while Pennel hit an impressive 11 dart leg in his singles, starting with five perfect darts. The Three Tuns A hosted the Bull B and made light work of a 7-2 win, though Bull’s Graham Amer took the last singles for a consolation while the Bull’s Steve Alexander hit a 180.
