Canterbury 2nds won 3-0 at home against fourth-placed Teddington to go joint-top of London Premier Division.

The win, which followed a 1-1 draw against Southgate last week, took the defending champions level on points with Hampstead & Westminster, who do have a game in hand.

After a goalless first half during which the city club wasted a host of chances, Harry Roberts broke the deadlock with a near-post strike.

Wei Adams doubled the lead with a fine drag-flick from a short corner and he added his second to seal the points late on from another set-piece.

The Pilgrims enjoyed a 5-2 win at home to South Saxons in South League Kent/ Sussex Regional 2.

The city side saw an early 2-0 lead wipedout by the visitors but Oli Kent rounded a defender and slotted Canterbury ahead before the break after James Bray had deflected on a Jake Smith aerial pass.

The hosts added a fourth after halftime and Smith fired in a short corner to seal the win as the Grims went fourth.

The 3rds saw their game at Marden Russets in Kent Area Division 1 postponed while the 4ths lost 5-3 at home

to Old Bordenians in the same division.

Division 2 leaders Millers won 4-2 at Tunbridge Wells 2nds.

Hugo Creaney-birch put the city club ahead from the penalty spot but the hosts levelled before the break.

Marshall turned in from close range after the turnaround and Matty Bye made it three after a Wells pass was intercepted.

The hosts pulled one back from a short corner but Marshall struck his second on the break to seal it.

The 5ths game against Holcombe 4ths fell foul of the weather in Kent Open Premier B as was the Griffins’ match at Holcombe 4As in Premier C.

The Squires, though, won 4-1 against Holcombe 5ths in Division 1 although the much-changed Friars lost 6-2 to Bromley & Beckenham 7ths to lose ground in Division 3.

It was 4-0 early in the second half before Tim Smith pulled one back from a penalty corner but the hosts added two more as Canterbury tired.
