Hampton Inn beat Smugglers Inn 5-3 to land the Premier Cup.

Both teams had won their respective groups and the Smugglers took an early 2-1 lead in the final. An opening singles victory for Hampton’s Clive Johnson levelled the match 2-2 but the Smugglers regained the lead at 3-2 with Nick Smith’s win.

Hampton again levelled through the pairing of Steve Moys and skipper Peter Furner and team-mate Dan Parker won his singles game to make it 4-3. Hampton’s Paul Dawkins followed suit to secure the match win and the cup.

Highlights saw Johnson and Dawkins each check out on 120, while Smugglers’ Mick Morgan hit a 180.

In the third place play-off, Divers Arms and Whitstable Cricket faced each other after finishing second place in their groups and a thrilling match saw Divers edge the match 5-4.

After seeing a 3-1 lead wiped out, Divers regained the lead with Peter Gallacher making it 4-3, only for the Cricket Club to again level, skipper Chris Dadd checking out on 170 to win his singles game with his opponent on a double.

In the decisive last fours game, the Divers quartet of Jason Adby, Anthony Crocker, skipper Paul Knight and Mark Sayer came from behind to defeat the Cricket Club quartet of Max Claughton, skipper Chris Dadd, Jordan Harding and Richard Stevens. Cricket Club’s Jordan Dadd and Pat Clancy each hit two maximums each, while team-mate Jordan Harding hit one 180.

In the Premier Cup wooden spoon play-off, Angling Club beat Tally Ho 5-4.

Tally duo Paul Betts and P Bennett checked out on 117 and 110 respective­ly, while Anglers’ Luke Adby hit a 180.

There are new leaders of Division 1 after the Rising Sun won 9-2 at home to the Catholic Club.

The match was level at 2-2 before Riser took over. Catholic Club skipper Richard Lee checked out on 120, while a 108 checkout for Riser’s Graeme Poynter helped him land the man-of-thematch award.

Chislet Colliery Club dropped from first to second despite winning 7-4 at Heron. They responded to Heron’s early lead by winning the four games in a row and although Heron’s Matt Elliott, aided by a 180 and Joe Miles reduced the deficit, Chislet skipper James Wells sealed the win, helped by a 156 checkout

Angling Club B won their first league points with a 6-5 home success over Druids Head, for whom Adam Farmer checked out on 105, while Jack Buxton hit a 180.
