Biker sentenced
A teenage motorcyclist caught riding while drunk and disqualified has escaped an immediate prison sentence. Aaron Jermy, 19, of The Elms, Hersden, was also carrying a lock knife when he was stopped by police in Ashford on January 21. A breath test revealed he had 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of his breath. The legal limit is 35. He admitted carrying an offensive weapon and drink driving while banned and without insurance. Magistrates in Folkestone sentenced him to 26 weeks in prison, but suspended the term for a year. He was also disqualified from driving for three years.
