Charity night raises £3,370
A charity gig and auction has raised £3,370 for homelessness charity Catching Lives and the Canterbury Housing Advice Centre.
Organised by Nick Piska, who chairs the CHAC and volunteer nurse Nikki Davies, the event attracted a big crowd to the newly-refurbished East Kent pub in Whitstable.
Following a performance by singer-guitarist Dave La, an auction had supporters eagerly bidding for a variety of prizes donated by businesses, led by Catching Lives chairman of trustees Mark Cowland.
They included a meal for four at The Sportsman, a beach hut and picnic for the day from Jo Jo’s, photographic prints by Michael Marsh and George Fisk, a facial from Room 92 and shop vouchers.
