Play group battles back to success

-

An outdoor play group targeted by mindless vandals has come back fighting.

Wild Play Nature’s Way faced a major setback last June after it was hit by vandals who tore up plants and damaged the site in Honey Hill in Blean.

But Caroline Stevenson, who runs the group for parents and toddlers as well as pre-school children, says it has grown immensely since the incident.

“We are getting involved with planting trees at the moment and are also in the process of erecting a polytunnel to have a gardening club on site,” she said.

“We have grown a great deal in the last year with several special events such as a tribal day.

“We are busy most weekends with children’s parties where we use our giant teepee and we will be having a stall in the Westgate Gardens Art in the Park in July for children to take part in woodland craft.”

The forest group, which is held in private woodland behind Druidstone Park, has been running holiday sessions for primary school children throughout the half-term.
