Kentish Gazette Canterbury & District
History prize
A prize of £100 is on offer to secondary schoolchildren entering a University of Kent competition to write a script focusing on migration in the Roman Empire. It is being organised by Prof Ray Laurence, who works in the Department of Classical and Archaeological Studies. He says it is an exciting way for students to use their knowledge about Rome and its people to develop their own stories, and can also help with revision. The winner may also have their script turned into an animated film. The deadline is March 31. Further information and the entry form are available at www.kent.ac.uk.
