Prize chance

A Canterbury artist has been shortlisted for a £15,000 prize in a national competition. James Bland, who has a solo exhibition at the Lilford Gallery in Canterbury from February 24 until March 10, entered an oil painting of a tram. He is among just five artists in Kent and 80 in the country in the finals of this year’s Lynn Painter-stainers Prize. The winners will be selected from these works and announced on March 6 at an evening event at the Mall Galleries.
