Australian singer and actor Jason Donovan will star at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre later this month.

The 48-year-old, who has previously played leading roles in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Sweeney Todd, will appear in Million Dollar Quartet.

Donovan has been cast as legendary record producer Sam Phillips, the man who brought Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins together to create music history on one night in 1956. In his role as the father of rock and roll, Donovan will appear in the first tour of the Tony Awardwinni­ng Broadway and West End musical.

The performanc­e will include more than 20 legendary hits, including Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, I Walk The Line and Great Balls Of Fire.
