Thomas mastermind­s first defeat for leaders

The 13th match of the season proved to be an unlucky one for Premier Division leaders Iron Room A in the Canterbury & District Associatio­n top-of-the-table clash.

Second-placed Hoath A ended Iron Room’s 100% record with a 5-4 win.

Hoath A were helped by Phil Thomas, whose three wins were supported by a further two from Ian Mileham.

Iron Room, whose points came from Phil Morford (2), Russel Bates and Ray Jordan, remain top. They lead their rivals –who have a game in hand – by 12 points.

Heron B eased to an 8-1 win over Chestfield Warriors 1. Joe Peaks averted a whitewash, with a win over Peter Chapman.

Chestfield Warriors 4 called upon the services of Shem Lejarde and Lewis Marsh from Division 3 for their Division 1 game against leaders Chestfield Warriors 3.

With a win each, the two young players earned the only two points for Warriors, as they succumbed to a 7-2 defeat.

A treble for Bob Edwards was not enough to save Herne Bay C, beaten 5-4 by Iron Room C. Another 5-4 score saw Whitstable Natives A win at Iron Room B.

Wins for Mike Lee (2), Michelle Kingsland and Kevin Beasley earned four points for the hosts, the Natives scoring through Adam Goodall (3) Barry Cooke and Barry Thomas.

Three clean wins for Ricky Kay, plus a treble for Paul Whittaker gave Chestfield Warriors 2 a 6-3 win over Herne Bay D.

Faversham B, with Nicolas Waters (3) and Callum Mcdonagh (3) on song, beat Choughs A 7-2.

Whitstable Natives A fell to an 8-1 home defeat to Faversham B – Adam Goodall saving Natives from a whitewash.

In Division 2, Aaron Hollingswo­rth (3), Simon Howe (3) and John Metcalfe saw Chestfield Warriors 5 to a 7-2 success at Blean B

Chestfield Warriors 6 were too good for Herne Bay F, earning a 7-2 victory while Aaron Hollingswo­rth (3) led Chestfield Warriors 7 to a 5-4 win at Choughs C.

Chestfield Warriors 7 lost 5-4 to Whitstable Natives B, who were indebted to Barry Cook (3) and David Block (2).

Chestfield Warriors 5 defeated hosts Faversham C 5-4, with wins for Lewis Marsh (2), John Metcalfe (2) and Simon Howe.

Blean A increased their lead at the top of Division 2 to 25 points, beating Herne Bay F 8-1. Tom Kwok and Crystal Tseng both collected trebles.

An inter-club derby match saw Chestfield Warriors 9 beaten 9-2 by Chestfield Warriors 11 in Division 3, Stuart Murray-williams maintainin­g his 100% record.

Blean C defeated lowly Herne Bay K 9-0, courtesy of Derek Whiddett, Alan Dilnot and Peter Cole.

Herne Bay H eased to a 6-3 win over Faversham D, while leaders Chestfield Warriors maintained their advantage at the top, inflicting a 9-0 whitewash over Herne Bay I.

In Division 4, Chestfield Warriors 19 beat clubmates Chestfield Warriors 18.4-1.

Herne Bay M’s hopes suffered a setback, losing 3-2 to Chestfield Warriors 13.
