Kent under-11s girls won the Fun in Athletics South East Regional Sportshall Athletic Festival at Burgess Hill on Saturday.

And the boys capped an excellent display by finishing runners-up.

Kent team manager Peter Le Rossignol said: “It was a fantastic result for the county. All the young athletes worked so hard for the team and the results show it.

“They have shown they are among the best in the UK and I hope they all continue to excel in sport.”

Competing against six other counties, the girls recorded three event wins and the boys four.
