Cadman goes bald in the name of charity
It was a hairy day for Canterbury’s Royce Cadman when he played his 100th first team game for the club against London Irish Wild Geese. After the match, the 6ft 7in tall lock forward, who has been cultivating a luxurious growth of hair for the past 18 months, had it shaved off – but all in the best of causes. Royce had his big haircut sponsored with the proceeds going to the children’s charity for rugby, Wooden Spoon. It marked the occasion of Canterbury becoming the charity’s 50th partner club. Wooden Spoon was founded by five England Rugby fans after the team’s woeful display in 1983. It now funds around 70 projects each year that support disadvantaged and disabled children and has distributed over £24 million and helped over a million people since it was founded.
