Bergin at his best for Monument B

A superb 149 checkout by Monument B’s Dan Bergin was the highlight of their 20-4 victory against an injury-hit Two Brewers Q.

Mike Cattell had a 100% record with four 140s and a 180, while Pete Gallagher, along with Bergin, also won all five games. The Q’s Dave Cambourn and Richard Stepney had the consolatio­n of 100 and 114 checkouts respective­ly.

Surprise package Coach & Horses A moved into second, easing past British Legion B 19-6. Stu Rule and Matt Davis both winning four and Neil Cross a 180. Karen Bowden did though have a 105 checkout for the Legion.

Monument A remain the only other unbeaten team with a 15-10 victory over Two Brewers Tornadoes, Bill Boyce and Pete Lawrence both winning four.

British Legion Wanderers won a tight game with Coach & Horses B, 13-12.

Ian Ball won the decider against Steve Crow, who had the best record of the evening.

Finally, Labour Club Homeless won their first game, beating Two Brewers Anglers 16-9. Dan Jackson and Darren Brownlee both winning all five games and Tracey Brown completing a 100 checkout. checked out on 121.

Reigning champions Divers Arms had to come from behind to win 8-3 at home to the Tally Ho.

Wins from Mark Sayer and Peter Gallacher turned the game around before Anthony Crocker, Simon Pollen, Chris Howard and Paul Knight sealed the comeback.

Knight checked-out on 120 while the Tally’s Scott Smith and Laurence Parker checked-out on 116 and 111 respective­ly.

Division 1 leaders Rising Sun lost 6-5 away to the Druids Head, despite leading 4-3 at one stage.

Man-of-the-match Tom Hibbert, helped by a 109 checkout, Del Male, and Martin Murphy ensured it was 5-5 before Adam Farmer, facing his former team for the first time, defeated his former skipper Alan Howlett 2-0 to see his new side win 6-5.

Title favourites the Chislet Colliery Club won 9-2 at home to the Angling Club B.

Leading 5-0, an opening singles win from Ross Llewellyn secured the win before further success for James Wells, David Hards and man-of-the-match Paul Bunting.

East Station Snooker Club won 9-2 at home to the Heron. Mo Waithalia was man-of-the-match for the victors while Geoff Peacock recorded a 107 checkout.
