Slick Tyres into cup semis

Liam Wellings hit a hat-trick as A1 Tyres became the second team through to the semi-finals of the Herne Bay and Whitstable Sunday League’s President’s Cup.

Ashley Tuite was their other scorer in a 4- 2 victory over Northgate Rangers and they now face Monument PFC Reserves, earlier conquerors of Wingham.

Liam Love and Chris Fowler netted for Northgate.

Rising Sun have joined Jadon Blues in the last four of the Whitstable Charity Cup, Senior Section after beating Chilham Sunday 5-0 in round two.

Stacy Davis, Simon Brown, Tom Parker, James Turner and Ben Brown were Riser’s scorers.

Goals from Charlie Hallett and Sam Rigden secured Monument PFC a 2-0 win over Crusaders in round one and they now face an away quarter-final with Bay Athletic.

Littlebour­ne were 5-1 victors against Spartans and they host The Elephant for the right to take on Rising Sun in the semis.

Jon Lewis struck twice for the Bourne, with Guy Connelly, Robbie Loomer and Louis Brister also on target.

Faversham United beat Whitstable Town Old Boys 4-2 to reach the quarter-finals in the junior section.

Ryan Sargeant, Stephen Barleycorn, Dan Barleycorn and James Prior netted for Faversham who now play Oare.

Hampton will take on St Stephen’s after edging past Littlebour­ne Reserves on penalties.

The game finished 2-2 before Hampton won 4-3 in the shootout. Dan Sillito scored Bourne’s two.

Chislet CW and Monument PFC Reserves will contest the first semi-final after they both came through second round ties on Sunday.

Callum Kennelly and Nathan French scored for Chislet as they edged City Lions 2-1 (Tom Shepherd) while Monument swept aside Faversham Strike Force 4-0 with strikes from Nick Burns (2), James Brown and Tom Winding.

Tankerton Royals picked up their fourth win of the campaign in the Premier Division when they won 5-1 at Waterfront.

Joe Walker and Nick Gardiner both scored twice, with Joe Martin completing the tally.

Keiron Amer and Stefan Wall scored for the Elephant against Blean Sunday in Division 1 but the promotion hopefuls had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

The result was enough to move them clear of Wingham in second but they trail leaders Monument Reserves by three points, having played a game more.

The league’s bottom club Canterbury Toon secured their third point by holding Oare 2-2 Olly Jones scored both goals for Oare.

St Stephen’s beat Heron Athletic 4- 1 with the goals coming from Josh Stedman, Ugo Emekue, Daniel Wells and Jonny Pilcher.
