Electronic DJS’ festival all over city

-

Electronic DJS and live bands will converge on Canterbury for the fifth City Sound Project over the May bank holiday weekend.

Organisers of the two-day festival have announced headline acts for the event, which will be held on Saturday, April 29, and Sunday, April 30, across multiple sites in the city.

Headliners for the boutique festival include White Lies, The Rifles, David Rodigan and Mobo-nominated AJ Tracey.

Also playing will be the House Gospel Choir, James Hype and Detlef, plus an exclusive showcase from Ibiza club brand Solid Grooves.

Local bands will also be joining the line-up.

Established in 2012, City Sound Project brings music from electronic DJS to live bands, the spoken word, street art and more to the city. Previous headliners include Bastille, George Ezra, Mystery Jets, Mike Skinner and Slaves.

Stages will be set up at venues including Westgate Towers, chapels and the castle and festival-goers can exchange their tickets for a wristband on the day at one of three exchange points, which then gives them access to all parts of the festival.

Once checked in, they get a lanyard with a festival programme and a map of Canterbury with directions to all the festival locations and gig timetable.

Secret Sets, a feature of the festival, are, however, not in the programme but announced minutes before they happen through the festival app and Twitter.

Tickets start at £22.50. Book at citysoundproject.com and find the app by searching for City Sound Project.
