Premier Division leaders Iron Room A’s command of the top came under serious threat as mid-table Hoath B took them to the limit before Iron Room edged a 5- 4 home win. Hoath were grateful for the long-awaited return of Richard Carden with three wins while Hoath C won 6-3 at Heron A with wins for Mike Howard. Faversham A got their campaign back on track with a 5- 4 home win over third-placed Herne Bay A with Harry Law dominating with a hat-trick of clean wins. Bay B remain rooted at the bottom of the table after an 8-1 home defeat against Chestfield Warriors 1 for whom Paul Waumsley and Lee Edgington won three each. Despite a 6-3 home defeat by second-placed Warriors 2, Warriors 3 remain four points clear at the top of Division 1. Paul Whittaker won all three for the victors. An unbeaten Kell Davies (3) was Warriors 4’s only shining light as they lost 6-3 at home to Iron Room B. Faversham B wasted the chance to go second as they lost 6-3 at Iron Room C, for whom Geoff Jordan and Brian Kennett won all three. Adam Goodall’s three wins engineered a 6-3 home win for Whitstable Natives A over Choughs A. Blean A’s dominance of Division 2 was broken, as was their 100% record, as visitors Bay E recorded won 5- 4 with Giulio Guariglia winning three and ending the 100% record of Blean’s Tom Kwok. Faversham C lost 5- 4 to two-man basement-boys Warriors 6, for whom Stuart Murray-williams won all three. Blean A did see-off Warriors 7 5- 4 in a rearranged game, though, to ensure the Division 2 title with Paul Simmonds winning three points. Bay F maintained third place with a 7-2 home win over Choughs C, thanks to a Graham Waters treble. Natives B could only field two players as they went down 5- 4 against Blean B while George Marsh won three for Warriors 5 in their 7-2 home win against Bay E. With three clean wins, Tim Platt led Warriors 10 to a 9- 0 whitewash over Warriors 9 in Division 3 with Bernard Ebeck and Peter Mccaig adding a treble each. Stuart Murray–williams continued his winning ways and kept his 100% record intact as Warriors 11 beat Bay J 5- 4. Leaders Warriors 12 confirmed their superiority with a 7-2 win over second-placed Blean C with three wins for Lewis Marsh. Third-bottom Bay I surprised fourth-placed Warriors 8 with a 5- 4 away win with three successes for James Ball. Although bottom of Division 4, winless Warriors 16 gave a good account of themselves as they lost 3-2 to Warriors 15. Warriors 13 were given a tough match by secondbottom Warriors 17 in another club derby which they won by the same score. The annual Canterbury Junior Tournament will be held on Sunday, March 25, in Whitstable, where the Veterans Tournament will take place on April 9.
