Blues sink Monument to earn cup final spot

Jadon Blues won through to the final of the Whitstable Charity Cup, Senior Section when they beat Monument PFC 4-1.

Rob Lawrence and Ollie Stevens both struck twice to send Blues through to the final where they will either face Premier Division champions Rising Sun or Littlebour­ne.

Two goals from Ryan Clark helped Crusaders to a 3-0 win over A1 Tyres in the Challenge Cup, first round.

Toby Wood netted the other, with Crusaders now facing Wingham in round two.

Oare eased past Whitstable Old Boys 7-3 to reach the last four of the Roger Cork Cup.

Adam Cashford scored twice, with the other goals coming from James Gadd, Olly Jones, Jack Jepson, Dylan DraperDunn and Ben Rowley.

They now face Chislet CW.

Jack Payne netted twice as Chartham beat Waterfront 3-0 to secure their fourth win in the Premier Division. James Klosek completed the scoring.

Spartans became only the second team to take a point off champions Rising Sun when they held them to a 2-2 draw.

Peter Sharpness and Durim Brata netted for Spartans, with James Turner and Wayne Fittall replying for Sun.

Littlebour­ne swept past Tankerton Royals 7-2, led by Robbie Loomer’s hat-trick.

Louis Brister, Shaun Loomer, Matt Martin and Michael Seagers were their other scorers, while Joe Walker scored both for Royals.

Ky Hall and Kieran Amer both claimed trebles as The Elephant won 9-1 at home against Northgate Rangers in Division 1. Chris Axford and Steve Clinch were also on target with the ninth coming courtesy of an own goal.

That win kept The Elephant in third but they are still six points behind Wingham even though the villagers were held to a goalless draw by Blean Sunday.

Leaders Monument Reserves were 5-0 victors over Hampton to stretch their lead at the top to three points. Sam Bubb scored two with Piers Burn, Nick Burns and Joe Mullan the other scorers.

Division 2 leaders Faversham Strike Force suffered a 3-2 home defeat to St Stephens for whom Jonny Pilcher (2) and Alfie Oliver scored.

Justin Howard and Ashley Bolton replied for the Force, whose gap over nearest rivals Chislet CW is now five points but from three games more.

Chislet did not play at the weekend but they will have been cheered by Monument PFC A’s 4-1 defeat to City Lions.

Will Watton ( 2), Tom Shepherd and Josh Sargeant got the goals for Lions, with Edward Bowie claiming Monument’s consolatio­n.

They remain three points adrift of Chislet but have now played one game more.

Bottom club Canterbury Toon went down 3- 2 to Faversham United despite efforts from Jack Allen and Charlie Wallis. Ryan Sargeant and Stephen Barleycorn, with two penalties, saw the visitors home.

Heron edged Littlebour­ne Reserves by the same score, Dan Sillito netting both for the losers.
