Slavery inquiry bail extended
A car-wash boss arrested during an investigation into modern slavery has had his bailed extended. In December, police raided Avion Elezi’s home in Harcourt Drive, Canterbury, and his chain of USA Car Washes in Chartham, Hersden and Broad Oak Road, where they removed 21 employees for interview. They swooped after a documentary featuring footage of employees reportedly living in squalor and working for below the minimum wage was broadcast. Elezi, 36, has been rebailed until May 25.
