Drivers warned of roadworks

-

Drivers are being warned of a two-week road closure near Wincheap.

Highways chiefs will shut Hollow Lane and Homersham at the junction where they meet from Monday for resurfacing work to a new roundabout.

Motorists are being asked to use alternative routes via the A28 Wincheap, Pin Hill, Rhodaus Town, Old Dover Road, the B2068 Nackington Road, Merton Lane and Iffin Lane to Hollow Lane.

Access to the remainder of Homersham will be from the A28 Wincheap. The second phase of the work involves the installation of a sewer and will see Hollow Lane closed to the north of the junction with Homersham.

Drivers will be able to access the remainder of Hollow Lane from either direction during the works.

Kent Highways says it is not possible to reopen the roads outside working hours and the work is expected to take up to two weeks.
