Musical adventure for children

-

Go on a musical adventure with Peter and the Wolf as the classic fairytale is brought to life at The Gulbenkian this weekend.

The magical show is based on the symphony by Sergei Prokofiev, which was written for children in 1936.

It is produced by On The Other Hand theatre and tells the story of Peter and his animal friends – the bird, the duck and the cat.

Mischievous Peter lives with his grandfather, and one day wanders out into the meadow to find his animal friends, against his grandfather’s wishes.

His grandfather has warned him of a wolf in the nearby forest, and not heeding his advice, he finds himself in peril. Find out how this clever boy and his animal friends triumph.

Peter and The Wolf will be at the Gulbenkian at 2pm on Saturday.

The production is followed by a meet-and-greet session with the puppets. The show is suitable for ages four and above.

Tickets are £8 for adults, £6.50 per person for groups of four or more, and £1 for a baby on a lap. Call 01227 769075 or visit www. thegulbenkian.co.uk
