Blues see off Sun in the cup

Jadon Blues caused an upset in the third round of the Challenge Cup, edging unbeaten table-toppers Rising Sun 2-1 after extra time with a goal each for the Lawrence brothers, Rob and Dan. Ben Brown scored for the Sun but it wasn’t enough to deny Blues a semi-final clash with The Elephant. Faversham Strike Force made it to the Faversham Charity Cup Junior final with a 5-2 win over Northgate. The goals were shared around as Joe Ellet, Ali Adam, Mark Anderson, Tom Waters and Mahmoud Al-sadi set up a final clash with either Faversham United or Heron Athletic. In Division 1, Matt Harris scored a hattrick for Crusaders as they beat Woodmans Hall 7-2. Ryan Clarke, Aaron Baker, Scott Crane and Sam Holiday also scored, with Darren Eke netting two for Woodmans. Chilham and Hampton shared the points with a 1-1 draw, Andy Hayward netting a penalty for Chilham. The Elephant and Blean also drew 1-1, with Ky Hill scoring for Blean. Chislet missed the chance to move to the top of Division 2 after being held to a 2-2 draw with Oare. Sam Todd and Jack Waite got the goals for Chislet, with Jones and O’hara netting for Oare. City Lions slipped to a 4-1 defeat at Heron with Tom Shephard scoring for the Lions. Goals from Dan Fleming and Joe Venes weren’t enough to prevent Monument from slipping to a surprise 4-2 defeat at home against second-bottom Whitstable Old Boys. St Stephens and Littlebour­ne reserves couldn’t be separated and finished 2-2, with Littlebour­ne’s goals coming from Karl Farbrace and Yohan Holmberg. Alfie Oliver and Jonny Pilcher replied.
