CALLS TO CLEAR UP EYESORE ‘Get him out’ pact urged Greens in election offer

-

A unity “progressive” candidate is the only way to defeat Canterbury and Whitstable’s sitting MP Sir Julian Brazier, the Green Party suggested this week.

Spokesman Henry Stanton called on Labour and the Lib Dems to rethink their reluctance to back a single candidate to fight the Conservative after Parliament yesterday (Wednesday) approved the Prime Minister’s June 8 general election. However, former city councillor James Flanagan insisted he had no intention of ditching his Lib Dem rosette and called for voters to support his effort to defeat Sir Julian, right.

The MP of 30 years hit back: “If Labour, the Greens and the Lib Dems want to get together then that’s a matter for them. I shall be making my case and the other parties can make theirs.”
