The City Sound Project will be back this month with a weekend of more than 150 acts across several venues The county’s biggest music festival arrives in Canterbury later this month.

The City Sound Project (CSP) has more than 150 acts performing across various venues over the May Bank Holiday weekend - from Saturday, April 29 to Sunday, April 30.

Performers include reggae DJ David Rodigan, White Lies, AJ Tracey and the queen of UK grime Lady Leshurr, the House Gospel Choir, DJ James Hype and Spring King.

There will be music to suit all tastes – of all genres – from electronic DJS to live performers – plus local and international artists, poetry and art events all in one place. Venues include chapels, castles, ancient theatres, cobbled alleyways, clubs and pubs including the Secret Gardens in Stour Street, the Marlowe Theatre, Westgate Hall and Dane John Gardens.

After the sun goes down, ticketholders can enjoy gigs in indoor arenas, including a silent disco and a 6am after-party.

There will also be secret sets. These impromptu gigs won’t be found in the programme and will be announced minutes before they happen through the app and Twitter. Festival-goers will have wristbands giving them access to every CSP venue, encouraging them to move across the city and enjoy different places and sounds.

Since it launched in 2012, CSP has grown year after year and is one of the best-known cultural events in the city. By combining a wealth of local talent and putting them on a line- up with some of the best and most exciting UK artists it has created an unmissable weekend for many people.

Ticket prices start from £22.50 at www. citysoundproject.com.

Those with a birthday between April 14 and May 14 can get a special Birthday Festival Ticket for the full weekend for just £10.
