Hat-tricks from Tiegan Stevens, Ella Wilson and Jodie Cain earned Canterbury City Girls under-15s a 9-1 win over Anchorians.

The result was good enough to secure City second place behind London’s Long Lane in the KGLFL invitational 11v11 after just one season competing in the top division.

Coach Paul Stevens said: “We’ve ended this season on a massive high, unbeaten since the end of January.

“The girls have worked so hard and have raised their game in this division.

“We have proved that we can compete with the best teams in Kent. I can’t believe how far we’ve come and I’m so proud of the entire squad.”

Player-of-the-match was full-back Zara Howard. The team also have the Tina Wilson Cup final to look forward to next month. Team: Menniss, Day, Walker, Howard, Tritton, Harris, Cory, Jordan, Pollard, Cain, Steven, Wilson, Vergo.
