Two short and dismissed for 17

Nine- man Faversham 2nds were dismised for just 17 on the way to a 108run defeat against Rodmersham 2nds in 1B Central.

Skipper Vince Taylor’s four was the top score with the bat – equalled by extras – as the visitors subsided in just 12.1 overs.

Rishi Milward-bose, Nahum Appleton, Henry Goss and Adam Moore had all earlier taken two wickets as Rodmersham were 125 all out.

James Creed’s impressive hundred still saw him finish on the losing side as Sheldwich went down by six wickets at home to Headcorn in 1A Central.

The opener hit 12 fours and four sixes, carrying his bat to make an unbeaten 125 out of a total of 175-7, with Nick Collins (17) the only other batsman to reach double figures.

Michael Griffin claimed an early wicket but two half centuries saw the visitors home with 11 balls to spare.

Byron Gould’s 53 helped Littlebour­ne to a six-wicket Championsh­ip East win at Boughton & Eastwell.

He hit five fours and three sixes in his 48-ball knock out of the first 60 runs scored in a total of 137-4. Brother Josh took 4-20 in the home side’s 135.

Bourne 2nds didn’t fare as well, out for only 81 in a nine-wicket 2A East home defeat against Leeds & Broomfield (85-1).

Opening bowler Matthew Mustill did the damage with 7-21, including Sound defence from Ash batsman Neil Hopkins against Borstal, and right, opening partner Tim Dudgeon clips a ball to leg during his half-century removing both openers for ducks.

The 3rds also struggled – out for 91– as they went down by 32 runs at Nelson (123-9) in 1C East.

Tim Dudgeon hit 53, including seven fours and a six as Ash (133) lost by six wickets at Borstal (135-4).

Rob Marsh’s 5-13 in nine overs and an unbeaten 55 by Ben Rutherford, eased Canterbury 3rds (106-3) home by seven wickets against Ramsgate Corinthian in 1A East at Polo Farm. Marsh’s miserly spell also included six maidens, before Rutherford and Aaron Hopkins (28 not out) got Canterbury home in just 14 overs.

Jack Fagg (56) and Kieran Jessupp (48 not out) steered Sturry (151-6) home by four wickets at Minster (Ramsgate) (148).

Fagg struck seven fours and three sixes off 48- balls, while Jessupp, four fours and six in his 82 deliveries faced.

Sturry suffered a slight wobble, losing five for 45. Peter Carey top scored with 30 as Whitstable 3rds (136) lost by four wickets at home to Sandwich Town 3rds (139-6) in 2B East.

Skipper Jeremy Taylor hit 57 and Paul Beeson 25 not-out in Herne Bay’s 117 on the way to a five-wicket home defeat by Stowting (118-5).

Exiles at Stelling Minnis and Grasmere Park both gained 20 points each as opponents Boughton & Eastwell 2nds and Nonington 3rds conceded.
