Approval after office is built
A man who built an office above a garage without planning permission has won his bid to keep the changes.
Hugh Davies, who owns Mulberry House in Marley Lane, Kingston, made alterations to the site without submitting a planning application.
His plans were approved retrospectively by the city council’s planning committee on Tuesday.
Mr Davies said: “Making the relatively minor changes without first submitting a revised application was a mistake. We all have to work with the planning process and if I did this again I would always follow the process.”
The office building is also used by guests of Mulberry House.
