The last remaining of Canterbury’s three teams in the Two Four national competitio­n, Canterbury A, lost to by 18 shots to Kearsney. The ladies suffered an eightshot defeat against Aylesham after losing two of the three rinks played. Canterbury Ladies 42 Aylesham 50 Teresa Spencer, Barbara Grundy, Sue Close won 19-10; Pat Vaughan, Rosemary Wheeler, Yvonne Gambril lost 19-12; Junko Lord, Christiane De Weduwe, June Baker lost 21-11. The men enjoyed a 23-shot success against Sellindge after wins on three of the five rinks. Canterbury overcame East Kent Mixed Triples League leaders Birchingto­n by 30 shots to claim five of the eight available points.
