Anorexia film ‘a danger’

A young woman who survived anorexia has launch a scathing attack on a new film about the condition.

Elle Payne, 25, from Canterbury, says To The Bone, starring Lily Collins and Keanu Reeves, risks reinforcing stereotypes of skeletal victims and could even encourage some. It does not tackle the misery and despair of eating disorders.

Speaking about the film’s producers, she told the Gazette: “They have a responsibility to keep others safe, not to give triggers.”
