Principal leaving for Kazakhstan

-

A college principal is leaving the city to be headmaster of a school in Kazakhstan.

After seven years at CATS Canterbury in New Dover Road, Jonathan Ullmer will next month take up his new role at Haileybury School in Astana, the country’s capital.

He will leave behind an impressive legacy, with CATS recently rated “excellent” in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. It is also the UK’S second best sixth-form college for A-level results.

Mr Ullmer, made an MBE for services to UK and international education, said: “It has been an enormous privilege to serve the city of Canterbury and CATS Canterbury students and I have loved every moment of my time here. I will leave here with strong memories and gratitude to some amazing young people and to the people of Canterbury who have hosted us for so long.”
