Walking with dinosaurs at theatre

-

Jurassic adventure Dinosaur World is coming to the Marlowe Theatre this summer.

Set on the lost island of Mundo De Los Lagartos Terribles off the east coast of South America, the land is inhabited by dinosaurs who escaped mass extinction at the end of the Cretaceous period.

The show uses stunning puppetry to bring a range of remarkably life-like dinosaurs to the stage. This new show features Tyrannosaurus Rex, Giraffatitan, Segnosaurus, baby Triceratops and others.

Dinosaur World is written by Derek Bond, who also wrote Sweet Charity and Little Shop of Horrors.

The creative team includes puppet designer Max Humphries, who has worked at the National Theatre, Royal Opera House and Cirque de Soleil, and puppet director Laura Cubitt, who has worked on shows including Running Wild, Don Quixote and War Horse.

Dinosaur World, which is recommended for those aged three and above, runs from Friday, August 11, to Sunday, August 13, with various performance times.

For details, and to book tickets (priced £13.75 and £16.25, concessions available), go to marlowetheatre.com or call the box office on 01227 787787. The ticket price includes a free, postshow “meat and greet” with the puppets.
