KENT REGIONAL LEAGUE: CHAMPIONS SHOW NO SIGN OF LETTING-UP AS BEER MAKES SURE OF WIN

Championsh­ip East champions Littlebour­ne beat Borstal by four wickets on Saturday. Robbie Loomer (4-36) helped dismiss Borstal for 130 before Tony Beer (53 not out) and Josh Gould (40) starred in the Littlebour­ne reply. Elsewhere in the division, Ash suffered a seven-wicket loss at Cobham after collapsing to 73 all out. Only two players reached double figures for Canterbury 3rds in their 1A East match at Margate. Canterbury were bowled out for 113 and went on to lose by four wickets. There was a thriller in 1A Central as Sheldwich lost to Holborough Anchorians by one run. Replying to the home team’s 141-9 (James Creed 4-24), Sheldwich came up painfully short at 140-9 despite 46 from captain James Harris. Third-placed Sturry tasted defeat in 1B East, all out for 169 in reply to Elham Valley’s 2412. Steve Laslett starred with bat and ball for Ash 2nds in 1C East but still finished on the losing side. Laslett took 5-39 and later hit 80 but Ash, chasing 193 against Nelson 2nds, were dismissed for 173. Nonington 3rds lost to Tenterden 3rds by 61 runs despite the best bowling efforts of Paul Laurent (4- 47) and James Bowman (3- 47). Littlebour­ne 2nds are on the brink of relegation from 2A East after they lost to Borstal 2nds by 100 runs. Replying to Borstal’s 198- 4, Littlebour­ne crashed to 98 all out and they’re 12 points from safety with only 15 to play for on the final day of the season. Street End have their sights set on the 2B East title after winning a low-scoring game at Stowting. Joe Goldbacher (5-35) helped dismiss Stowting for 101. Street End made hard work of the run-chase before reaching 103- 8 in the 30th over.
