Faversham toppled Ash by 14 shots after winning three of the five rinks. The winners were Jenny Emms’ team from Birchington, in second place were Sheila Swinerd’s team from Kearsney and in third place were Doris Thompson’s team from Victoria Park.

Barham claimed six of the eight East Kent Mixed Triples League points available in a rain-shortened game against Canterbury. Canterbury 60 Barham 74 Mike Hutchinson, Val Lundin, Ian Burton lost 17-4; Maureen Aitkin, Mervyn Gulvin, Bernard Woodhams lost 15-11; Keith Wright, Jane Carey-harris, Malcolm Nicholson lost 19-3; Christiane De Weduwe, Dave Rickard, Dave Todd won 15-3; Alison Mcdonald, Tom Nelson, Dave Charlton lost 17-11; Wendy Wright, Brian Wheeler, Colin Strouts won 16-5.
Kay Lloyd and Yvonne Gambrill joined forces to win the ladies’ drawn pairs competition after winning all three of their matches in a 14-strong field.
The runners-up were Sandra Swann and Jenny Wilkinson who also won all three, while Eileen Barrett and Sue Close, along with Sheila Holden and Wendy Wright also won all three but missed out on end and shot difference.
Canterbury won by six shots against Cliftonville in the East Kent Mixed Triples League to claim 4.5 league points. Canterbury 115 Cliftonville 109 Maureen Aitkin, Roger Blissett, Ian Burton lost 20-19; Sheila Holden, Tim Woods, Bernard Woodhams lost 22-15; Jane Carey-harris, Dave Rickard, Colin Strouts drew 15-15; Wendy Wright, Brian Wheeler, Dave Charlton lost 27-19; Ian Mitchell, Sally Blissett, Colin Goldsack won 20-14; June Mitchell, Bob Keen, Michael Hutchinson won 27-11.
Canterbury Ladies narrowly lost by three shots against Lyminge. Canterbury 43 Lyminge 46 Maureen Aitkin, Moira Austin, Marion Patmore lost 14-10; Alison Mcdonald, Rosemary Wheeler, Sue Mates won 23-12; Kay Lloyd, Barbara Grundy, Maureen Dilnot lost 20-10.
